FAQ - RainWater App

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How does RainWater App connect to my tank?

RainWater App connects to your rainwater tank via wireless sensors that attach to the tank exterior or float inside. The sensors communicate with our mobile app through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, providing real-time level readings. Setup takes just minutes — attach the sensor, pair it with the app, and you're ready to start monitoring.

  • What sensors are compatible?

RainWater App works with a wide range of ultrasonic, pressure, and float sensors from leading manufacturers. We also offer our own certified RainWater App Sensor Kit, which is pre-calibrated and guaranteed to work seamlessly. Check our compatibility list in the app or on our website for full details.

  • How accurate is the rainfall data?

Our rainfall data is sourced from high-resolution weather radar networks and ground station reports, providing accuracy within 1mm for most locations. The app combines multiple data sources and updates forecasts every 15 minutes, giving you reliable predictions for your specific area.

  • Can I monitor multiple tanks?

Yes! RainWater App supports unlimited tanks on our Pro plan and up to 5 tanks on the Basic plan. You can view all your tanks on a single dashboard, set individual alerts for each one, and compare water levels across your entire collection system. Perfect for properties with multiple rainwater tanks.

  • Is my data secure?

Absolutely. All data transmitted between your sensors, our servers, and the app is encrypted using industry-standard AES-256 and TLS protocols. We never share your personal data or water usage information with third parties. Your privacy and security are core to our platform design.

  • How much does the subscription cost?

RainWater App offers two plans: the Basic plan at $49/month includes 1 tank monitoring, rain radar, email alerts, and basic analytics. The Pro plan at $99/year (less than $8.50/month) includes up to 5 tanks, push notifications, advanced analytics, and priority support. All plans include a 14-day free trial.

  • Does it work offline?

Yes, RainWater App stores recent tank level data locally on your device, so you can view your last readings even without an internet connection. Once you reconnect, the app syncs with the cloud and updates your dashboard with any missed data. Real-time features like rain radar require an active connection.
